This is probably the second hardest thing I have done in Ceramics class. To make bowls, you need to have a lot of patience. Something that I struggle to have. I must have gone through soooo much clay trying to make bowls. I think I attempted around twenty times, when I finally started to get more of a control of the clay. After my first successful bowl, I became more confident in what I was doing and became very happy with my results. After the bowls were fired, it was time to glaze them! I really did not want just a solid color. I did do a color called "Peacock", which is the color you see of a burgundy, yellow, and blue. Even with that interesting glaze, I really wanted to try something different, so I did different designs on each plate. Each containing similar features so that they don't look too different. I was worried that the design wouldn't show up, but when they were finally fired, I was amazed with my results. I was very happy!
